Japan has four seasons.Spring is beautiful cherry blossoms season,Summer is incredible fireworks season, Fall is autumn colors and held some festivals, Winter is you could see a beautiful snow and enjoy winter sport. As there are four season, foods has season as well. Now is spring season. I see various spring vegetables, fruits, fish in spring season in a grocery store.I like to use seasonal foods for cooking! So, I decided to make seasonal menus in my class. Now is the best season for bamboos shoot and clam” Asari”! I made the spring menu using these foods.
Normal my bento class use meat for main dish. But I know some people can’t eat meat. A guest who booked my bento class asked me in advance, “ Can you arrange bento dishes for me? I can’t meat, bacon, sausage made from meat.but I love fish” I think it’s good timing for me to come up with new recipes for the people who can not eat meat. I corrected “Sure!! I can “. Hahahahaha. Then I tried to cook fish dishes suitable for bento few times. Finally I made new recipe “Deep fry fish with Japanese masterd sauce “ and I found a sausage from fish paste!
Recently Two guests joined my Cooking class “Authentic Teriyaki chicken with rice”.I love teriyaki chicken, so I wanted to have teriyaki course in my menus. They like Japanese foods and have tried to cook Japanese dishes many times. But they didn’t know how to make Teriyaki sauce and authentic Japanese miso soup!
A guests were from Japan and USA couple! They live in Tokyo now. The reason why they wanted to cook Japanese traditional or mama’s cooking was that she grew up abroad and Her mother cooked Europian style cuisine at that time, so she didn’t know how to cook authentic typical Japanese homemade dishes. One more key point was he loves Japanese foods:)
